Handmade Mirrored Shisha Vest | Spades Moif | 1970s
Hand-embroidered mirror-work vest in black, covered in dense multicolor chain stitching and bold playing-card-inspired motifs.
The front features oversized green spade designs, floral diamond motifs, inset reflective mirrors, and continuous white, yellow, orange, red, and green embroidery across the entire surface. A simple black fabric tie closes the vest at center front, while the open neckline and cropped waistcoat silhouette keep the elaborate textile work at the forefront.
The reverse is even more dramatic, with a large symmetrical arrangement of red and green card-suit motifs surrounded by mirrored accents and all-over freeform white chain stitching. Every panel is richly worked, giving the piece the visual density of a wearable folk textile.
